Short description
Penwright is a full manuscript app for Android. Writers organise chapters and scenes, build a Codex of characters and places as they type, and compile a submission-ready manuscript, with every scene saved as a plain Markdown file in a folder they choose.
Long description
Penwright has eight project types (novel, novella, novelette, short stories, flash fiction, poetry, zine and essays), each with its own structure. Typing [[ and a name creates and links a Codex card. Scenes can be dated on custom fantasy, sci-fi or historical calendars and viewed on a timeline in story order. Compile exports .docx, .epub or .pdf, including Shunn manuscript format.
There's no account and no cloud requirement, and the app has no AI features. It detects e-ink devices such as Boox, Bigme and PocketBook, switches off animations, and turns pages with the volume keys. It can open an existing synced project folder or Markdown vault in place.
